Dear Families of SJDR,
Please know of my continued prayers. We know that this summer has caused a great deal of anxiety and concern for many families. Trying to make decisions about your child(ren)’s education as well as the constant new cycles focused on education these days can be truly exhausting. San Juan del Rio is committed to protecting a high-quality education in a safe environment for all our faculty, staff, and students. Over the summer months we have adopted new policies for campus, acquired new disinfectant products & electrostatic sprayers, and enhanced our cleaning procedures and routines. We are confident that our campus is safe for our students and faculty. All of these steps have been rooted in our core values and our beliefs about education, including that learning is sacred work.
The Diocese of St. Augustine has made the decision to push the start date for students back to Wednesday, August 19th. You can find SJDR’s updated calendar on our website.
SJDR is encouraged that this new calendar will provide our faculty and staff much needed time to properly train and prepare for the new school year. Our faculty and staff will still begin on our regularly scheduled date of August 3rd for preplanning. This new calendar now gives our team an additional 7 days of preparation and training for our updated procedures to ensure a protected learning environment.
Yours in Christ, Our Teacher,
